About Enginetech Lower Gasket Sets: Enginetech lower gasket sets (also called engine conversion gasket sets) supply the gaskets and seals needed to convert a short block into a running long block. Each set is engineered for a specific engine family rather than a generic application, with materials and thicknesses matched to the factory sealing surfaces - oil pan, timing cover, front crankshaft, rear main, valve cover, and supporting sensor plugs and O-rings where applicable. Enginetech's part-number consolidation covers more engines with fewer SKUs, which keeps rebuild costs down without sacrificing fitment accuracy. Paired with a matching head gasket set, a lower gasket set completes the full engine reseal scope for a standard rebuild.
