The Walker Products Vehicle Speed Sensor (part number 240-1131) is a direct-fit replacement for 1997-2011 Chrysler, Dodge, and Mitsubishi vehicles with 3.0L, 2.4L, and 3.8L engines. Vehicle Speed Sensors send electrical pulses to the computer, pulses which are generated through a magnet that spin a sensor coil. When the vehicle’s speed increases, the frequency of the pulse also increases.
