The Walker Products Vehicle Speed Sensor (part number 240-1048) is a direct-fit replacement for 1999-2003 Ford and Mercury vehicles with 3.0L and 3.8L engines. Vehicle Speed Sensors send electrical pulses to the computer, pulses which are generated through a magnet that spin a sensor coil. When the vehicle’s speed increases, the frequency of the pulse also increases.
