The Walker Products Vehicle Speed Sensor (part number 240-1091) is a direct-fit replacement for 1995-2002 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles with 3.0L and 4.6L engines. Vehicle Speed Sensors send electrical pulses to the computer, pulses which are generated through a magnet that spin a sensor coil. When the vehicle’s speed increases, the frequency of the pulse also increases.
