The Enginetech ECP1007 is a variable valve timing (VVT) cam sprocket/phaser assembly. Fits 2008-2021 Cadillac/Chevrolet/GMC/Hummer 4.8L/5.3L/6.0L+ applications.

Important Notes

  • Two phasers required per engine - order quantity 2 for a complete service on this application.
  • Aftermarket-design unit: engineered as a direct-fit replacement for the OE phaser with equivalent response characteristics, not an OE-branded part.
  • Service recommendation: replace the VVT phaser as part of any major timing chain service. A worn or sticking phaser causes cam timing codes (P0011, P0014, P0016, P0017), rough idle, and loss of power at specific RPM bands.
  • See the OEM Cross-References section below for matching Melling, PCI, and OE part numbers.
  • Always verify the cam position (intake vs exhaust), engine bank (left vs right), and specific engine application against the phaser spec before ordering. Phasers are not interchangeable between cam positions or between engine families, even when displacement matches.

Enginetech Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Cam Sprockets are precision-engineered cam phaser assemblies that replace the OE VVT sprocket at the front of the camshaft. The phaser integrates with the engine oil control solenoid to vary intake or exhaust cam timing on demand, tuning power delivery, emissions, and fuel economy across the RPM range. VVT phasers are a routine wear item and should be replaced as part of any major timing chain service; a worn or sticking phaser causes cam timing codes (P0011, P0014, P0016, P0017), rough idle, and loss of power. Always verify the camshaft position (intake vs exhaust), engine bank (left vs right), and specific engine application against the sprocket spec before ordering - phasers are not interchangeable between cam positions or between engine families.
