Enginetech ESL5006 is a centrifugally cast iron cylinder repair sleeve with 4.0157 inch bore, 7.875 inch length, 0.050 inch wall, cataloged for 1989-2009 Dodge applications. It restores a damaged or over-bored cylinder to OE standard bore size without replacing the entire block.
Important Notes
- Sleeve is supplied with a semi-finished inside diameter; plan to remove at least 0.025 inch during final bore and hone to achieve the correct piston-to-wall clearance.
- Chamfered bottom outside diameter is intended to ease installation into the engine block; a light interference fit is typical and the block counterbore should be measured before pressing.
- Nominal wall thickness is 0.050 inch (thin-wall). Verify block counterbore diameter and sleeve OD clearance before pressing.
- Sold individually; quantity required equals the number of cylinders being sleeved.

Centrifugal casting produces homogenous material throughout each sleeve for consistent hardness and machinability, and every sleeve is supplied with a semi-finished inside diameter that allows the machinist to remove at least 0.025 inch during boring and honing for a precision bore-to-piston fit. A chamfered bottom OD edge eases installation into the block, and each sleeve ships individually boxed and wrapped in rust-preventative paper for clean shelf storage. Enginetech also produces high-performance sleeves cast from a premium formula yielding higher hardness (293 BHN) and higher tensile strength (45,000 PSI) where the application demands it.
